Kugel mesh hernia patch investigation

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a Class I recall of certain Composix Kugel Mesh hernia repair patches, manufactured by Davol, Inc., between December, 2005 and March, 2006. The memory recoil rings on some patches have broken, causing severe internal puncture injuries. The patches have also in some cases migrated causing severe internal complications.
