AA LLP Partner Lori Andrus Quoted In Legal Newspapers Regarding Preemption

Ms. Andrus was recently quoted in the Los Angeles Daily Journal and the San Francisco Daily Journal in an article discussing preemption as a defense to product liability lawsuits. The topic is timely given the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision in Riegel v. Medtronic and the Court’s upcoming decision in Wyeth v. Levine.

Describing corporate defendants’ efforts to limit injured plaintiffs’ access to the courts, Ms. Andrus noted “[t]here is no question what the end goal is for those who would shut the courtroom doors on our clients.” Ms. Andrus assured the public that AA LLP will continue to fight for their rights, however. “They’re going to keep coming at it from every angle–and so are we,” she stated.
